RS Shaker with FAST Chamber
Repetitive Shock Vibration is generated using one or more pneumatic impact hammer(s) to strike a plate on which a product is attached. This style vibration equipment provides vibration in three distinct axis and three rotationally axes simultaneously.
The new advanced random repetitive shock vibration system, RSL SCI, features patented individual impactor control and monitoring, providing more concise and effective accelerated reliability tool. The development of clever algorithms allow the RSL SCI to efficiently deliver truly random energy through the table and to the product. The dual strike impactors are capable of varying both the amplitude and frequency of the strike and proves that this table can excite more fatigues, more quickly, with lower Grms levels and using less compressed air than the comparable industry standard table. Being able to independently control each impactor also results in overall true random smoothing and eliminates the "picket fencing" (or spikiness) of the profile. Superior energy uniformity across axes and quadrants produces more accurate results.
Vibration tables are available in a variety of sizes ranging from 18" x 18" (46cm x 46cm) to 48" x 48" (121cm x 121cm) and can turn existing chambers into HALT and HASS combined environment accelerated stress test facilities.
The new RSL SCI technology is protected under United States Patent No. 7,861,594.

-
Independent Impactor Control-Impactors can be accurately synchronized to deliver bursts of high G shock events or randomly unsynchronized to provide true random white noise energy covering a wide frequency range. There is complete control over how hard and frequent each impactor strikes the table. RSL SCI tables can now be configured to run multi-point control, that is to say, specific areas or sections of the table can be controlled separately. Therefore, table quadrants will be set to be more accurately tuned for peak consistency and performance.
-
Reduces Picket Fencing Effect-Forced random impacts eliminate the spiky harmonic effect of repetitive shock hammers operating from a single compressed air source.
-
Low Energy Advantage-The new patented SCI impactor is capable of varying both the amplitude and frequency of the strike, and can do more fatigue damage at a lower Grms level than the comparable industry standard table at a higher Grms levels. This table has more energy at frequencies below 200 hz than any other table on the market.
-
Energy Uniformity-Extremely consistent axis-to-axis uniformity. Quadrant-to-quadrant table uniformity is maintained to a tight tolerance and can be configured to respond and compensate to impactor wear. This level of consistency is especially vital when it comes to HASS, where repeatability is paramount to provide accurate production stress screening.
-
Finds Failures Faster-Dual strike impactors impart higher levels of fatigue to accelerate the time it takes for failures to manifest themselves.
-
Energy Saver-The new dual strike impactor uses 40% less compressed air than traditional single strike impactor designs. A new "green" setting limits the consumption of compressed air, electricity and LN2 which especially beneficial in production HASS screening applications.
-
Equipment Durability-SCI impactor technology has been thoroughly tested and proven to last over 5,000 hours under the rigorous stress environments of HALT & HASS. One of the inherent beauties of SCI technology is its ability to automatically compensate for wear conditions. As an aged impactor begins to exhibit signs of wear, intelligent controls can alter the amplitude and/or frequency of impact to maintain the integrity and consistency of the vibration profile.
