Thermotron to Exhibit 8,000 Force Pound Shaker at NVC: The DSX-8000 meets the 100G/11ms automotive shock specification
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.—Thermotron Industries will be exhibiting its 8,000 force pound electrodynamic shaker at the SAE 2013 Noise and Vibration Conference (NVC) and Tradeshow, May 20-23 at the DeVos Place Convention Center in Grand Rapids.
The DSX-8000/16-960/5 vertical shaker will be running on the hour, every hour during the tradeshow.
“Thermotron’s 8,000 force pound shaker can meet the 100g/11millisecond automotive shock specification vertically with a 200 pound payload,” said David Kujawski, Thermotron’s marketing manager. “This spec can also be met horizontally with a 100 pound payload.”
Previously a much larger shaker was required to meet this specification.
“We can offer a more cost-effective solution for our customers,” Kujawski added.
The DSX-8000 has the highest rail voltage in the industry and the rugged, durable armature can be custom wound for specific performance.
“A tremendous amount of research has gone into this technology,” said Kujawski. “It was been field proven and meets IEC-60068 pre- and post-pulses.”
The DSX-8000 comes with the Windows®-based WinVCS-3200, a Thermotron-engineered control system that supports test setup, monitoring, and graphing. It also supports a chamber-shaker combined system on one screen.
The SAE Noise and Vibration Conference is Monday-Wednesday, May 20-22 at the DeVos Place Convention Center in Grand Rapids. For more information and to get tickets, visit sae.org.
