The incumbent in this position will support the Application Engineering Supervisor to promote the sale of Thermotron’s mechanical and electronic equipment.  Using Thermotron’s established procedures, the incumbent is responsible for the follow through on job orders from the quoting process through engineering, manufacturing, shipping and installation. The incumbent will function as a liaison between the customer and company personnel, regarding specific requirements and costs for orders.  This position involves consistent and critical customer contact and courteous, efficient servicing of accounts.

 

PRIMARY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Managing projects in assigned product line utilizing tools, such as pert and gant charts with the flexibility to accept assignments involving other product groups, (In house or in the field) for a period of time to assist that group.
  • Generating quotes on highly complex projects, interaction with the customer may include price negotiation, or answering technical questions about the product line.
  • Functioning as a liaison between the customer and the company personnel coordinating details of each order, estimating costs associated with each original order and/or customer requested changes to product after it is quoted or sold. Responsibility for receiving additional funds as required from customer to cover cost or margin profitability.
  • Working with customers to determine utilities available (water, power, air) to ensure that facilities are well equip for Thermotron product installation and function.
  • Communicating with customer and Thermotron departments regarding electronic, mechanical or industrial engineering requirements for each order, as well as, providing engineering with all pertinent information regarding equipment sold.
  • Monitoring and following up on order  progress through engineering  and manufacturing, maintaining schedules for quote follow-up activities and outstanding quotes, as well as, coordinating acceptance tests and maintaining records throughout.
  • Determining pricing for non-standard chambers per the approval of direct supervisor or Marketing executive and making a bid/no bid decision based on both findings and approvals.
  • Handling legal requirements of customer contracts, i.e., terms and conditions; proprietary information, etc.
  • Follow-up on past orders to ensure customer confidence and satisfaction, as well as, facilitate referral sales for the future.  Processing detailed “Job Lost” reports on quotes processed by self or assigned through field office.
  • Providing technical support to field sales as required, assist in the field sales presentation of new product, including travel to customer locations as necessary.
  • Assisting in the development of new product concepts, pricing, market strategy and sales tools.
  • Support in the development and maintenance of product price books.
  • Design and conduct presentations at the field sales team meetings.
