DSX-4000 Electrodynamic Shaker Boasts 4,000 Force-Pound Capabilities
Continuing its history of innovative accomplishments in vibration, Thermotron is pleased to announce the development of a new 4,000 force pound (17.8kN) electrodynamic shaker, the DSX-4000. With its 16" (40.6 cm) diameter magnesium armature, the DSX-4000 is sine and random test rated for 4,000 lbf and provides superior acceleration levels. The DSX-4000 vibration shaker is air-cooled and fully compatible with AGREE environmental test chambers. It supports payloads up to 1,000 lbs (454 Kg) and offers velocity up to 80 ips (2.03 mps). Featuring Thermotron’s dynamic centering system, the DSX-4000 has optical sensors ensuring that the armature is accurately centered during operation.
Controlled by Thermotron’s exclusive VCS-3200 Vibration Control System and updated for Windows XP®, the DSX-4000 electrodynamic shaker is able to perform accurate sine, random, shock, resonant search and dwell, real data acquisition and playback (RDAP), random-on-random and sine-on-random capabilities. The VCS-3200 features over 85dB of dynamic range, a selectable resolution up to 3,200 lines and a user selectable frequency range up to 3,000 Hz. Eight input channels are standard. The DSX-4000 shaker incorporates an air-cooled and highly efficient DS-940 Series Power Amplifier to drive the shaker to full output capability over the specified frequency range. The amplifier is integrated with dynamic field supply controls allowing the user to early tune power consumption to the desired
test level while maximizing performance.
