Thermotron manufactures high quality Environmental Chambers and Vibration Test Systems. We are proud to stamp our equipment with our Made in Holland, MI USA plate because of all the hard work and dedication of all of our skilled employees. Thermotron’s roots in West Michigan span more than 50 years. What started out as one small manufacturing shop in 1962, has transformed over generations into different locations and buildings, to now having two large buildings holding all our Holland, Michigan-based employees.

“What makes Thermotron such an exceptional company is the craftsmanship and customization used to build and manufacture our products,” said Mike TerAvest, Vice President of Manufacturing. “Our highly skilled employees make it possible.”

Thermotron’s environmental chambers, electrodynamic shakers, and other testing equipment are extremely complex and highly engineered pieces of equipment. All engineering and manufacturing are done in-house. Having the engineering team work closely with manufacturing staff enables Thermotron to maintain tight quality control over the manufacturing process, allowing us to tackle issues and obstacles quickly by making adjustments and changes as needed.

“As much as our manufacturing team depends on our engineers for prints and drawings on how to assemble our equipment, our engineers also rely on our skilled craftsmen to notify them of any manufacturing issues or challenges,” said John Ross, Materials Manager. TerAvest added, “We couldn’t send our equipment drawings and designs elsewhere because they are highly detailed and unique to Thermotron test equipment.”

Many suppliers of the parts Thermotron uses are from North America. “More than 80% of our parts and components come from the United States and Canada,” said Ross. Some suppliers have off-shored and then decided to reshore to keep closer tabs on quality control. “We enjoy working closely with these suppliers that are helping their local communities with providing stable jobs and economic growth, and providing us quality parts and components,” he added.

“With such a rich manufacturing history in Western Michigan, we take pride that our test chambers and shakers are made all in Holland,” TerAvest said. “Thermotron provides hundreds of jobs in West Michigan.” All of Thermotron’s administration, engineering, manufacturing, human resources, marketing, finance, and customer service are based in our two Holland, Michigan locations. Additionally, our direct sales & service field engineers are located across the United States and Canada. Sales and service representatives serve Thermotron customers worldwide.

Thermotron is committed to high quality standards. We are proud to be accredited for calibration to ISO 17025 and NCSL Z-540-1 by A2LA (American Association for Laboratory Accreditation), and to have an ISO 9001 registered quality management system through ASR (American Systems Registrar).
